Oh Lordy – already I’ve written and deleted three almost complete blog posts. I really need to get better at this whole blogging thing. I mean, seriously, if I really didn’t think people cared about what was going on in my life – I wouldn’t have the blog…
Maybe I need to do a list post – it’s been a while, right?
- Today was the old man’s 31st birthday. I got him a card that says, “Here are two important lessons to remember on your birthday. 1) Don’t look at the past, you can’t go back and change it 2) Don’ t look for the present, I didn’t get you one.” He actually laughed out loud when he read it and said, “That totally sounds like something you’d say” and he’s right – this is how predictable I’ve become.
- My friend (and coworker) Chuck had a date tonight and I keep thinking about her and wondering how it went. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a friend that’s dated.
- There was a time when the above sentence would have been structured like this: “My coworker (and friend)…” – but I honestly feel that my friendships with two of my coworkers comes before our coworker relationship and that makes me smile.
- For the first time in a very long time, I ran into a friend while I was out and about the town. I don’t mean it’s been a long time since I ran into this friend – I mean it’s been a long time since I ran into A friend – this is what it’s like living in the city. I remember ten years ago, I couldn’t walk through the grocery store without stopping and having at least 5 conversations with friends I ran into. That is what it’s like living in a small town.
- Every time I look at the new blog header, I smile a little more.
- Wow, I just looked at the clock and saw that it was midnight – it’s been a very long time since I’ve stayed up this late and sadly, I have an early day tomorrow with server maintenance, which almost never goes according to plan. Go Team!
- Since my medication change I have experienced persistent itchy skin, increase in my acne outbreak on my face and now, thrush. This is not going as well as I had hoped it would, just fyi.
- I’ve started reading Lee Child and I really like him.
- I haven’t complained about Facebook on the blog – but this most recent UI update really does suck on levels reserved for the type of people who kick puppies.
- I totally forgot that the Olympics started tonight.
- How about that snow out in Texas?
Well, that didn’t turn out so bad I guess but man is it late and as I said before, I have an early morning – so I better get to bed.
